Tips for booking a hotel

First and foremost is to make the bookings directly on the website of the accommodation. Thus you avoid fake booking websites, plus you might be surprised to find special deals offered by hotels on their own websites, since it is preferable for them to make a direct transaction and cut the agent´s commission rate (which can be up to 30%).

We suggest you book your accommodation as soon as you have decided on your travel plans. This will give you more options of available accommodations and the best rates.

Carefully read the cancellation policy of the accommodation, and beware of reservations without the right to a refund. They can cost a lot of money if you change or cancel. It is best to search for accommodations with more flexible policies in case you change your mind.

When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. Print it and bring it with you the day of arrival at the hotel.

A very important detail when choosing accommodation is the year it opened or was renovated, since the newer it is, the better the facilities. Sometimes a new 2-star hotel is better than a 5-star that has not been renovated since its inauguration.

Location is essential, so it may be better to pay a little more for the room and save on travel costs. The accommodation must be at a strategic point for you, close to the areas that you are most interested in getting to know. Always check the postal code to find out exactly which area it is in.

If the hotel does not comply with services or conditions cited on the website, such as type of room, hotel services, furniture, etc., do not hesitate to complain at the reception and put it in writing if necessary.
